The climate crisis is one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Team for the Planet, our partner and citizen impact fund, recently launched an unprecedented operation to accelerate the transition to net zero. Our ambitious goal is to bring together 10,000 businesses in one month, to raise 10 million euros to finance 10 new innovations that will make a real difference to climate change.
10,000 companies, 10 million euros, 10 innovations for the climate
Leyton is fully committed to this operation, which could well change history. We’re helping to raise the profile of Team for the Planet, notably through the We Sail for People and Planet collective, of which we are one of the founders.
And we are one of the 10,000 companies aiming to make a difference.
This initiative is a first: bringing together this large a coalition of companies passionate about stopping climate change in just one month has never been done before. Team for the Planet intends to raise 10 million euros to finance 10 new (open source) innovations that will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions on a global scale.
As proof that the challenge is achievable, in 2022, the citizen fund succeeded in mobilising 35,000 new citizen shareholders in just 5 days!
Innovative solutions to climate change financed and deployed
Team for the Planet has already invested 10 million euros in financing innovations such as :
This passive, low-tech solution protects buildings and cities from the extreme heat caused by climate change. Cool Roof has the potential to save 1,000,000 tonnes of CO2 per year!
This solution has been developed to decarbonise cold production, thanks to a unique compressor that uses only water in a closed circuit. The system consumes 30% less electricity. Leviathan Dynamics has the potential to save 2,000,000 tonnes of CO2 per year!
This solution uses AI-automated vessel traction to navigate, enabling the decarbonisation of merchant shipping. Beyond the Sea has a potential impact of 5,000,000 tonnes of CO2 saved per year!
