We help businesses claim significant tax relief on their energy costs.
At Leyton we are experts in the non-commodity costs of energy. This includes reviewing what other costs businesses incur when it comes to carbon, energy, and emissions. Carbon pricing and emissions
trading schemes increase costs for electricity generators because they have to buy allowances for the emissions they cause.
Energy-intensive industries pay more because of their higher consumption thus leading to a significant price differential between the UK and countries which have lower or zero pricing for carbon. The EII compensation scheme is designed to help reduce this differential.
The guidance is extremely specific to your business, but as a general guide you must:
1- Manufacture a product which has a relevant Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code.
2- The indirect carbon cost of the business must be over 5% of GAV to demonstrate that your business is “energy-intensive”
3- It does not matter if you conduct some eligible and some non-eligible activities you can still apply.
Check your eligibility with Leyton🡪
Any business that manufactures a product which has one of the relevant SIC codes and is based in England, Scotland, or Wales, the industries might include: Textiles, Wood, Pulp, Paper, Glass fibres, Fertilisers, Chemicals, Iron, Steel, Aluminium, lead, Zinc, Tin, Copper & Battery production.

We assess your eligibility through two separate tests: to ensure your activity meets certain requirements.
After passing these tests, we begin compiling your application, handling the background work on your behalf.
We then submit the claim to Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
The DBT will review the claim and provide us with a letter of compensation detailing the benefits for the client.
