Today, we’re delighted to announce our partnership with the award-winning B Corp Neighbourly, an innovative volunteering platform that connects businesses with local charities and communities for social good.
At Leyton UK, we’re passionate about making a difference in the communities we operate in and the clients we serve. We know that volunteering and fundraising can make a profound difference to people’s lives and the environment. That’s why our team members regularly volunteer their time at food banks across the UK and commit to unbelievable personal challenges to raise significant sums of money for causes they believe in.
For example, this year Scott Cairns, our Senior Commercial Partner, has taken on three incredibly tough long-distance running events, raising over £2,000 for Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital Charity, including a whopping 100km run from East Kilbride to Loch Lomond and back!
Another amazing story comes from Daniel Purkiss, our Partnerships Team Leader. He took part in a punishing 1,661km cycling challenge across several stages of the Tour de France route to raise over £1,500 for the William Wates Memorial Trust.
Giving back is part of our DNA, which is why we offer each employee a day for volunteering. We actively encourage every team member to take advantage of this benefit to support those who need it most, particularly through supporting the local community and helping vulnerable people, important societal causes, and improving the environment.
We also have a formal volunteering policy, which focuses our efforts on volunteering and fundraising for our target causes, which include Cancer, Children, Mental Health, Homelessness, Food Poverty and Planet.
Neighbourly takes our volunteering offering to the next level. We share their conviction that “global change begins locally” and are excited to offer our employees diverse and meaningful new ways of giving back.
Their platform will now allow us to measure our team’s volunteering and fundraising efforts so that we can not only understand the impact we’re making – we can also better celebrate our team’s collective achievements.
