Leyton Connect is a serie of events during which the customer is at the heart of our strategy. The objective? To exchange ideas during a Breakfast & Conference on a current issue, and to help our respective companies evolve by learning from the different points of view of our guests. Our aim is to equip these business players with concrete strategies for exponential growth. More broadly, through this event, we aim to create a dynamic and collaborative community between entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises).
For the first edition, we are delighted to welcome Laurent Tillement, Director, Partnerships – AI & Health, at Mila, accompanied by Laurent Lecanu, Business Development Manager – Pharma Division for Leyton. They will be speaking at a Breakfast & Conference on the impact of AI on life sciences and Mila’s role in supporting its adoption in Quebec.
Laurent Tillement: Laurent is Director of Partnerships, AI & Health at Mila – Institut québécois d’intelligence artificielle. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy (Paris, France) and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA). He has many years’ experience in academic and pharmaceutical circles in France, the USA and Canada. Trained in life sciences research, he has been involved in various stages of drug development, from exploratory to clinical research, with a focus on the implementation and impact of innovations in pharmaceutical processes. Laurent is Mila’s representative in the life sciences ecosystem, establishing close relationships with the various players, initiating partnership opportunities, and helping to develop research collaborations.
Laurent Lecanu: Laurent spent 25 years in Research & Development in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, both clinical and preclinical, including 14 years in academia at Georgetown University and McGill University. Then, after a decade working with start-ups worldwide, Laurent joined Leyton Canada at the end of 2022. His mission now is to develop strategic partnerships with Quebec and Canadian organizations in the life sciences sector, and to help these companies enrich their innovation financing strategies.
