L’Assomption RCM, May 25th, 2021 – With the mission of propelling and promoting Quebec Agtechs and plant bioproducts companies, the Zone Agtech has joined forces with Leyton, which specializes in financing innovative and technological companies. This partnership, which will last at least a year, will allow members of the Zone Agtech to have access to a competent and experienced resource to support them in their search for funding.

« The companies who are members of the Zone Agtech are dynamic and very innovative. Many of them are developing advanced solutions that require several phases of funding. The support of an international player like Leyton is undoubtedly a major asset in accelerating the passage of the idea to the market of Agtech Zone member’s companies » emphasizes Sébatien Nadeau, mayor of L’Assomption and bearer of the vision of the Zone Agtech within the Council of Mayors of L’Assomption RCM.

« This partnership agreement strongly supports our offer in terms of innovation support. Thanks to Leyton’s support, we will be able to accelerate the funding phase of innovation projects in Agtech and plant bioproducts and thus support our positioning in Quebec and internationally. This is great news for the entire Zone Agtech’s Community.»

Since its launch in 2020, The Zone Agtech has presented itself as a key player in the development of the Agtech and plant bioproducts industry in Quebec. Today, it brings together more than 175 Quebec companies and organizations within its community, more than 1600 scientists representing 24 complementary areas of expertise, then financial partners and three accelerator partners.

« The agricultural technologies and plant bioproducts sector is booming and the dynamism of the Zone Agtech is proof of this», said Paul Maco, business development director at Leyton. « The alliance of our two areas of expertise will provide concrete support for the acceleration of Agtech companies that are members of the Zone Agtech, both locally, nationally and internationally ».
