Energy efficiency and real estate markets in Quebec are the subject of a number of news. When it comes to energy efficiency, did you know that the Quebec government offers a number of incentives to help improve energy efficiency in both residential and commercial buildings? Among other things, this is to keep pace with new standards and technological innovations. As for real estate markets, there is a trend towards rising prices, fluctuating interest rates and the emergence of more sustainable projects.

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, 3 experts had the pleasure of deciphering it during a Breakfast Conference: Léa Berlinguet, Business Development Delegate – Strategic Partnerships at Hydro-Québec as well as Patrice Chouaieb, Director of Tax Consulting and François Huot, Director of Real Estate Consulting Services at Leyton.

Hydro-Québec is a Québec public utility responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the province of Québec. Founded in 1944, it was created to consolidate and nationalize several private electricity companies in order to better manage and develop Quebec’s water resources.

  • Léa Berlinguet: Graduating in Economics and International Business from HEC Montréal in 2010, Léa worked for the city’s economic development for nearly 10 years at Montréal International, as part of the foreign investment attraction team. Today, she is involved in the energy transition at Hydro-Québec. She is helping to ensure that the collective wealth represented by our renewable energy is a lever for economic development. Working in the Customer Experience department, and more specifically in the Strategic Partnerships unit, her role is dedicated to the financial partners of business customers who support industrial, commercial and institutional projects.
  • Patrice Chouaieb: With fifteen years of experience, twelve of which were spent in local tax consulting, followed by five years as a Tax Manager in large French groups, Patrice has built his career in the field of corporate taxation. He wishes to bring his expertise to the benefit of Canadian companies by acting as a true partner in the optimization of organizations and the search for tangible financial performance.
  • François Huot: François has over 20 years’ experience in client development and management. His experience spans financial services, tax consulting, market development and relationship management. He has held various corporate management positions focused on building customer relationships, served as a director of two Canadian financial institutions, and managed private equity assets and M&A transactions.
