Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Cambridge, MA, Datawheel is a software firm that delivers data integration, distribution and visualization solutions. Datawheel helps businesses and governments to analyze and visualize disconnected and fragmented data to make informed strategic decisions. They offer unique services including DataLocation and DataCompany that bring customized data sets together to visualize their client\u2019s data. In addition, Datawheel\u2019s Research Labs are always conducting R&D projects to improve backend tools, data distribution platforms, & finding new solutions to complex visualization challenges.<\/div>\n

Details Of Their Qualifying Buildings<\/h2>\n

The Leyton team collaborated with Linden Street Investments on two Wisconsin properties, exceeding energy efficiency standards with a new HVAC system, upgraded mechanicals, and efficient lighting. These upgrades were key in qualifying for a tax deduction, reflecting their commitment to sustainable construction.<\/p>\n

Construction of The Quin Apartments began in August 2017 and was completed in 2018. Linden Street’s strategic planning and energy-efficient design earned a $1.80 per square foot deduction<\/strong> for the 100,000-square-foot mixed-use property.<\/p>\n

The Yards, Linden Street\u2019s second multi-family project, is a 78-acre mixed-use zone. The building offers 86 apartments and 1,800 SF of retail space. Construction began in December 2018 and was completed in April 2020, with this building qualified for a $1.80 per square foot deduction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Benefit<\/h2>\n

The \u00a7179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Property Deduction<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> allows commercial building owners, owners of multi-family residential properties over three stories, and designers of public and tax-exempt entity buildings to claim a tax deduction for installing qualifying energy-efficient features.<\/p>\n

Linden Street Investments secured a total benefit of $323,638.20 in tax savings<\/strong> for the two residential property constructions with The 179D Tax Deduction. The Leyton team provided additional support by assisting Linden Street CPAs with various tax forms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
