Back in 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, energy prices more than doubled. Our energy bills went from \u00a31.8 million to over \u00a34 million within 12 months. We were already doing UK ETS compensation and I wasn&#8217;t sure if EII exemption was the same thing or something different. In one mind, I thought I was sorted \u2013 I didn\u2019t know there was a whole new scheme.&#8221;                    <\/p>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"ori-lg-6\">\n            <div class=\"db-content\">\n  <h2 class=\"db-content-title\"><strong>How was the application process?<\/strong><\/h2>\n  <div class=\"db-content-desc\">\n    <p>\n      &#8220;We set up calls where the scheme was explained to us \u2013 the potential benefits and estimated savings. When you&#8217;re told it could be around 4p per kilowatt hour, you do the math and realise it\u2019s worth pursuing. The process was smooth \u2013 we just had to provide energy bills and contracts, things that were readily available. It was quite quick, It took about three months.&#8221;<br>    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n<\/div>        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section id=\"dynamic-bloc\" class=\"ori-dynamic-bloc full-w \">\n<div class=\"ori-container\">\n    <div class=\"ori-row\">\n        <div class=\"ori-lg-6\">\n            <div class=\"db-content static-column\">\n                <h2 class=\"db-content-title\"><strong>What were the savings?<\/strong><\/h2>\n                <div class=\"db-content-desc\">\n                    <p>\n                        &#8220;We estimated savings of around a quarter of a million pounds per year. When we mapped that out during our three-year business planning, it added a million pounds to our EBITDA. A million pounds over three years \u2013 I\u2019d take that any time.
