About the client

Comtek Network Systems repairs, refurbishes and supplies a range of both current and legacy data networking/telecoms hardware, regardless of age or warranty status. They are passionate advocates for the circular economy and carbon reduction, offering a wide range of refurbished hardware options.

By repairing and refurbishing these products, Comtek are extending the lifespan of these devices, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing new equipment.

Their expert team of engineers repair down to component level. Each unit undergoes rigorous testing procedures to ensure quality and reliability before it is shipped. By providing cost-effective alternatives through refurbished equipment, they actively contribute to resource conservation and the reduction of electronic waste.

About the claim

Comtek have a large focus on sustainability, proven by their work’s contribution to the circular economy. Plus, they’re constantly innovating as very little of their work can be an off the shelf solution.

Despite Comtek previously claiming R&D internally, Leyton’s process allowed them to increase their qualifying expenditure by applying multiple methodologies they hadn’t considered before to aspects of their work.

The process

Christine Sheibani

HR Director at Comtek Network Systems

The biggest thing for us was the proactivity. With other firms, we were constantly chasing for updates. This time, the team kept in touch, followed up when needed, and even chased me when I hadn’t sent something over, which, honestly, I need because I’m so time-poor. The experience was night and day.

For us, Leyton made the whole process pretty simple. I could just have a conversation with the team about what we’d done, without having to go through reams of paperwork. I just don’t have time for that. Their knowledge and flexibility saved us a huge amount of time.

It’s nice to be able to work with a team that knows what they’re doing. They’re responsive and proactive, and if they’re ever unsure about something, they go and find out the information.

""

The benefit of working with Leyton

“I believe Leyton will advise businesses accurately regarding their eligibility of R&D Tax Credits. If you are involved in eligible projects, I would recommend using Leyton to streamline the entire process and free up valuable staff time.”

""

The impact of the claim

“The claim will help us recoup some of the ‘lost’ time spent on R&D and will provide a welcome financial boost by reducing some of our tax payments.”
