We know that volunteering and fundraising can make a profound difference to people\u2019s lives and the environment. That\u2019s why our team members regularly volunteer their time at food banks across the UK and commit to unbelievable personal challenges to raise significant sums of money for causes they believe in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, this year Scott Cairns, our Senior Commercial Partner, has taken on three incredibly tough long-distance running events, raising over<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justgiving.com\/page\/scott-cairns-1705519574139\"> \u00a32,000 for Glasgow&#8217;s Children&#8217;s Hospital Charity<\/a>, including a whopping 100km run from East Kilbride to Loch Lomond and back!\u2028<br><br>Another amazing story comes from Daniel Purkiss, our Partnerships Team Leader. He took part in a punishing 1,661km cycling challenge across several stages of the Tour de France route to raise over <a href=\"https:\/\/fundraising.wwmt.org\/fundraisers\/danielpurkiss\">\u00a31,500 for the William Wates Memorial Trust<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giving back is part of our DNA, which is why we offer each employee a day for volunteering. We actively encourage every team member to take advantage of this benefit to support those who need it most, particularly through supporting the local community and helping vulnerable people, important societal causes, and improving the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also have a formal volunteering policy, which focuses our efforts on volunteering and fundraising for our target causes, which include Cancer, Children, Mental Health, Homelessness, Food Poverty and Planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Neighbourly takes our volunteering offering to the next level.
