It was an obvious choice for an award for us to enter. Especially after a successful year of delivering initiatives that helped develop a high-performance culture that prioritised our people.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16992\" src=\"https:\/\/leyton.com\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/9\/files\/2024\/11\/image-23-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Highlights from the year, that were recognised by our shortlisting, included:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><section id=\"ori-list_block\" class=\"ori-list full-w \"><div class=\" ori-list_only\">\n    <div class=\"ori-container\">\n        <div class=\"ori-row\">\n            <div class=\"list-content\">\n                                <ul>\n                    <li>Creating a new employee-led diversity council<\/li><li>Working with the UN on their Target Gender Equality program<\/li><li>Being a signatory of the UN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weps.org\">Women\u2019s Empower Principles (WEPs)<\/a><\/li><li>Introducing a new menopause policy<\/li><li>Enhancing our flexible working policy to include remote working<\/li><li>Launching a competitive family-friendly policy<\/li><li>Providing a diverse new range of training and professional development opportunities<\/li><li>Ongoing coaching and mentoring programmes<\/li><li>Introducing manager awards and quarterly peer-to-peer award nominations<\/li><li>Launching a monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/majjane.leyton.com\/uk\/life-at-leyton\/\">Life at Leyton<\/a> podcast<\/li><li>Providing financial wellbeing webinars<\/li><li>Enhancing our employee assistance programme<\/li><li>Delivering in-house training for managers on mental health skills<\/li><li>Being recognised as an LPI exceptional learning organisation<\/li><li>Launching an updated employee referral scheme<\/li>                <\/ul>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 36px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The results speak for themselves with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><section id=\"ori-list_block\" class=\"ori-list full-w \"><div class=\" ori-list_only\">\n    <div class=\"ori-container\">\n        <div class=\"ori-row\">\n            <div class=\"list-content\">\n                                <ul>\n                    <li>Employee turnover has halved<\/li><li>Employee engagement at 98%<\/li><li>Employee referrals up from 1% to 22%<\/li><li>Recruitment costs down by 80%<\/li>                <\/ul>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 30px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s been a very busy year for our HR team,\u201d said Gillian Cole, Head of Human Resources&nbsp;at Leyton UK. It\u2019s wonderful to see so many new and improved initiatives that meaningfully champion <a href=\"https:\/\/majjane.leyton.com\/uk\/our-values\/\">our values<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe wanted to prioritise our people, and the work that has been delivered strongly reflects this \u2013 not only because of the extra support and benefits we\u2019re offering, but also because of how we consulted with our employees at every step.
