Sam injured aboard Leyton

Today, during the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe start phase, Race Management was informed that Sam Goodchild was injured aboard the Ocean Fifty Leyton.

Alerted to the situation, the CROSS coastguard team rushed a doctor to the scene. Sam is conscious. He’s being taken care of by a doctor and an assessment of his injuries is underway. Sam will be transferred to a SNSM lifeboat (RNLI equivalent). The shore team has taken control of the Ocean Fifty Leyton.
