Support for non-technical innovations

Leyton checks the eligibility of your R&D projects and supports you in applying for this funding program.

With the new Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneering Solutions (IGP), the BMWi is expanding the focus of its innovation support to include market-oriented non-technical innovations. Although new technologies can play a major role in the innovation projects and networks supported by the IGP, they do not necessarily have to; what is more important is the novelty of the problem solution. The IGP thus opens up opportunities for the realization of a wide range of new ideas in various future fields.

Pilot project with three tender rounds

Three thematic rounds of calls for proposals address specific areas. The first call for funding was aimed at digital and data-driven innovations, the second focused on innovations in the cultural and creative industries, and a third call for funding will follow in the fall for innovations in the area of education and access to information with a high social impact.

Funding also in times of COVID-19

The BMWi and the project management agency have taken precautions to ensure that the review process and administration in the IGP continue to progress rapidly despite the current corona pandemic and all the associated restrictions. One of the measures to strengthen the innovative activities of the target groups in the corona crisis is an increase in the budget of the IGP, which is in great demand, from around 25 million euros to around 35 million euros.
