Non-U.S. accounts are not accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6215c3b606915206efba46fe10befafd\"><strong>What if I\u2019m not set up on the ACE portal? Can you do it for us?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You (the importer) must create the ACE account yourself. However, support teams can <strong>guide you through the setup process<\/strong>, which has been simplified recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-397d98ec9af2010cb331e22e8980fbea\"><strong>Are couriers like UPS or DHL requesting refunds on behalf of companies?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Only the <strong>importer of record<\/strong> can request the refund.<br>If a courier or broker acted as the importer of record, <strong>they must initiate the refund<\/strong>, and you would need to arrange reimbursement with them separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3daffd95f0d9605f6e1acfb5f885832c\"><strong>If duties were passed along the supply chain, who gets the refund?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The refund always goes to the <strong>importer of record<\/strong>, even if the cost was passed to distributors or customers.<br>Any redistribution must be handled <strong>privately between parties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ebe850711eec432d54155263424a54ef\"><strong>What about imports outside the 180-day window?<\/strong><br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase 1:<\/strong> Covers unliquidated entries and some recently liquidated ones (within ~80 days).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other entries will be handled in <strong>future phases<\/strong>, with guidance still pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-60f339cd01d8d629252c93f717d247f1\"><strong>Are refunds dependent on liquidation status?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Refunds are <strong>not tied to liquidation timing<\/strong> but rather to the <strong>filing of the CAPE declaration<\/strong>, typically processed within ~90 days of submission.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cc29897ccec8b537d4c873a050c5151b\"><strong>Will brokers automatically file refunds?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>No. Refunds are <strong>not automatic<\/strong>.<br>The <strong>importer of record must initiate the process<\/strong>, even if a broker handled the shipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ccb327f314b4f682d82a7a1bdc33af19\"><strong>What if I can\u2019t access my ACE account?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This may be due to high demand or system issues.<br>You should <strong>contact the ACE help desk<\/strong>, which typically resolves issues within about a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d81d24d1f5f86ceb449ea3391df2960e\"><strong>Do you charge upfront fees?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>No upfront cost.<br>Fees are <strong>contingent on success<\/strong> \u2014 you only pay if a refund is recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9938eff0b68914da99f02e0a7882c688\"><strong>Are aluminum and steel tariffs (Section 232) included?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>No. Section 232 tariffs are <strong>not part of the IEEPA refund program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e3f7e328e28470b3332387f70ecbe6f6\"><strong>If we export to the U.S. but our U.S. customer pays the duties, can we claim the refund?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>No. Only the <strong>U.S. importer of record<\/strong> can claim the refund, even if another party covered the cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f36e687a2a859569448fb357ea1685e7\"><strong><br>What if I don\u2019t know the contact listed on the original 5106 form for ACE?<\/strong><br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll need to <strong>work with CBP (Customs and Border Protection)<\/strong> to verify and recover the account details.<br>This may require additional documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-25c8b6ad6e87dc72e9db4c3a49470a44\"><strong>How can I see how much I paid in IEEPA tariffs?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can generate reports directly in the <strong>ACE portal<\/strong> to view all tariff-related data and identify eligible amounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c62bc3167d863eba4fb90769dfd7e1b4\"><strong>Will the importer of record always be the customs broker?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>No. In most cases, the importer of record is the <strong>company purchasing and importing the goods<\/strong>, not the broker.<br>However, in some cases (e.g., small shipments), a broker or courier <strong>may act as the importer of record<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-yellow-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-437ef376a591e0ba86d3aa067957dd95\"><strong>Who needs to initiate the refund process?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Always the <strong>importer of
